It is also my very final semester in NTU. *sob* If I successfully passed all modules and FYP. :D Can't wait for graduation but uncertainties ahead seems to bother me more than anticipating the next turning point of life.
Went to try Arnold's fried chicken @ Geylang yesterday. Q was not as long as I expected. Located it by chance cause initial plan was to shop around and explore the east side.
Waited for less than half an hour to be seated. They have 3 branches the one I went to is at City Plaza, a wholesale shopping mall in Singapore. Was trying to find cheap deals over there but guess I don't really fancy digging clothes out of mess. Perhaps you can find great stuffs if you are not as impatient and "princess" as me. Read from the forum that City Plaza usually don't entertain walk-in shoppers or they prefer you to buy in bulk, for example min. 3 pieces for each design. But judging from yesterday, most of the shops now do retail like other shopping mall. It is also much safer compared to what I read. LOL!
Back to Arnold's.
Ordered a set of fried chicken, served with fries, buns and drinks. Total damage was around S$22.50?
Yummy fries! Only while hot. Became rather hard after cooled =.=. Taste nicer than KFC's or McD. But I still prefer Carl's Junior's. :) More potato fillings.
I think they fried everything (except coleslaw) including the buns. Quite oily and the texture was a bit hard.
The main dish you got to try!
Fried chicken! :)
Read review that dunno which part of the fried chicken tasted better, guess due to the demand now they put up a notice outside banning the customers from "personalized" their chicken's part. To me, all chicken's part taste the same wtf.
For the fried chicken, juicier and tenderer compared to KFC's and tasted yummier too! Cause Arnold only fried the chicken upon your order, which is what I assumed cause the chickens were damn HOT when they served it. It actually took quite some times for the fried chicken to be served and I was damn hungry even though they served fries and bun for us to munch on. So I guess fried chicken only taste nice when eat hot unlike KFC, where they usually serve "cooler" chicken. Not trying to patronized Arnold cause no reason for me to do so. I still love KFC though, their cheesy wedges are heavenly YUMMY that I can't find anywhere else except in Msia. ♥ Can't wait to go back and eat them! :)
Arnold's fried chicken tasted a bit spicy but there is no flavour for you to choose from. That's the only kind of fried chicken you gonna get. The spiciness is similar to like pepper but it is not overwhelming that totally burns our your taste bud and you can't taste anything beside SPICY. In fact I hate those spicy fried chicken that only made the tongue numb by spiciness and can't taste the goodness of the fried chicken itself. (Am I making sense? LOL!) So I would actually rate 4/5 for the taste. :) Not a big fans of fried chicken and I always go for burger while dining in KFC. :p Partially cause I was too lazy to use my licking fingers to eat them up.
Since it is served hot from the cooking, please expect the chicken to be a bit tad oily. And of course watch out your fingers too! It is so hot that we needed to wait it to cool off slightly before starting to eat like hungry ghost. I didn't know that fried chicken (or maybe the oil) can be that filling that it actually affected my appetite for dinner. >.< Tasty food is usually very unhealthy, but I let myself to be sinful for the fact this might be the only time I am going to eat this fried chicken. After all, west to east is really quite far and time consuming.
The time-competing life is going to start again tomorrow. Time to pick up the tempo to get serious on the stuffs on hand. Been too lenient towards myself by keep consoling myself is okie cause this is the last school vacation. Time to catch up with the progression left behind.
Babai!
