Dental Virginity

Not sure where did I gather my courage.

Had my very first dental visit. Phew!

My memory on dental experience is solely during primary school times, when we had dental check-up once or twice every year for free. Oh well, not an official dental check up I supposed since the "dentist" who inspected our teeth, I suspect, was nursing trainee. >.< I won't be surprised if anyone had a bad experience with them cause they were generally rude and impatient. :( We was poor little kid back then. But I was a bit tad lucky so far no bad encounterment with inspection or with my teeth. #truestory

In addition to inspection, we would have a teeth-brushing coaching session. LOL! This is hilarious when I flashed back the good old times where kids like us would be told to bring our toothbrush and toothpaste to school on particular day, led down to field or somewhere spacious in school compound, then the whole class would brush teeth together (and of course spit together) hahahahaha! with the nurse standing in front holding that "big teeth" and huge "toothbrush" demonstrating the right way to brush teeth. #likeapro But I am not sure how effective the coaching session was.

My teeth have not been giving me much problems since young (touchwood!) not even when those primary teeth fell off. We had our own way removing those primary teeth #likeapro. :D The only one who had experience with dentist at youngest age is my sis. Now I doubt if she would have phobia cause I remember it was quite scary for a kid back then. I haven't heard any of my friend going for dental check-up regularly (I suspect nobody go for it except for wisdom tooth removal cause the pain is simply killing). I heard too much of wisdom tooth experience and all of them are damn bad. #horror So I decided I want to figure out about my teeth before my teeth start giving me unbearable tortures and having the need to use dentures.

Damn panic while waiting for my turn. Especially when the drilling sound kept coming out from the dentist's room. =.= I almost want to back out but I know my mom will kill me. I heard too much of painful experiences and they kept haunting me at the moment. Why I so stupid "volunteer" for this fear-factor task. *scratch head*

Oh well, things turned out quite well I think. Perhaps I met a kind and polite dentist. (even though he talked very fast as if he was rushing for the next patient =.=) You bet there should be no good news sigh! The first question he asked was when was my last dental visit. I told him it was during my primary time #fml So as usual, being professional he started "lecturing" that dental check up must be done in every half or one year. But I am sure no people do that diligently lo! Except for dentists' kids. LOL! My teeth are left surviving through those sweet and rocky food all by themselves for more than 10 years or so. If they are found still perfect at this age, it will be too miraculously untrue.

3 decaying teeth and guess what my best friend is here too! In fact there are three of them! No wonder I am wise all the times. #fml Apparently the wisdom teeth grew out and now squeezing my molars. >< Causing gap in between molar and wisdom teeth and my food always stuck in the gap. #disgusting That's the reason why I wanted to do a check up cause the leftover is very annoying and I don't want to be caught putting in toothpick in my mouth publicly after every meal like my parents. #disaster Sigh! Apparently, the only way to stop this is to make myself retard. *just joking Again the only way to get rid of my widsomity is by surgery which surely cost a bomb. @~@

Done fillings for the decaying ones, which can be painful, *ouch*and my dentist suggested me to go back and contemplate whethere I want to consider a surgery or wait til the wisdom teeth start to decay and they will signal me with the unbearable pain.

I heard that some people don't have wisdom teeth (this is so unfair!) and some people have no issue with their wisdome teeth. I wish mine will just stay peacefully and decay with my body and bone when I died wtf.

关于冬至，

我问的人都好像不懂由来，所以只好“谷歌”一下（大陆的人称为“百度”）。

冬至的习俗对于我们而言就是搓汤圆，吃汤圆，祭拜祖先，还有一家团圆吃饭或在外打拼的孩子应该在这佳节打电话回家给爸妈？ (爸妈得沦落到在某时某节才能和孩子说上几句话，真是荒谬到极！）还是算了算了。可我怀疑若不是在“面子书”看见朋友分享的汤圆照片和祝大家冬至快乐，到底有多少人记得或知道何时冬至，甭说何谓冬至了！（我妹昨晚才说她不懂冬至 =.=）

无论如何，

什么是冬至呢？

为什么吃汤圆呢？

我确实不懂。懂得仅是，冬至每年几乎都落在阴历十二月二十二或二十三，冬至是一年的尾，一个月后就是农历新年。

华人每一个习俗都很特别，个个都有来源。（华人就是有那么多繁文缛节）

相信冬至的原意是用来推断时间与气候？古代的人就利用气候，昼夜的长短来断定季节（就是现今的四季）就像是希腊人为现代时钟规划的12小时。

除了汤圆，中国北部人都有吃饺子的习俗。说起饺子，我总认为饺子是一个华人传统中其中很重要的食材。只是在这里，相信饺子好像并没有起着重要的角色。 冬至吃饺子的来源之一是要纪念有“医圣”之称的张仲景当年为穷乡民医治冻耳朵。形状像耳朵，里头包着羊肉的饺子在冬天里吃了会有“护耳”的作用。 这是俗称的“祛寒嬌耳湯”。南方人则用米面/糯米粉制成圆形食品，就是现在俗称的“汤圆”。吃汤圆也意味着“长大一岁”。听外婆说吃汤圆的数量等于一个人的岁数，那她老人家可是会消化不良？（笑） 说起汤圆，身边好像有少数的朋友不懂汤圆用什么制成的。汗!

冬至大概最容易被现代人忽略吧。因为圣诞节的商业化已经成功俘虏年轻人的心。除了爸妈以上的辈分，应该都没有人为冬至感到期待了吧! 反正，汤圆比起姜饼人或火鸡，的确黯然不少。只是大家看见红白圆圆的，出自于孝心/传统才咬一口。

小时到现在的我，还是那么期待冬至，那么享受搓汤圆，虽然今年没有搓到（遗憾），但现在更懂得珍惜和享受这 一份相传多年的习俗。将来有了孩子，一定会让他们也懂得和珍惜这些传统。（笑）

Hakuna Matata

On and off, I would ask why is the world so unfair? Why is it that rich man owns a big bungalow and keep buying new cars like girls buying clothes? Why is it that the poor continues to be poor or become even poorer? Why is it that he can do it? Why is it that she can have it?

I jolly well know that world is unfair and life has never be a fair play for anyone and everyone. Is it just us human who simply can't be satisfied with current state or is it just that we need to keep going after one thing after another to make our life so-called more completed and a worth-living one? Or is it just that at the same time we are complaining how the life is treating others better than ours, others are whining the same things?

Sometimes, I do hate people who whined about how life is ill-treating them, how unfair this and that. I mean, com'on who told you that life is fair? I don't remember anyone taught me before life is equal for everyone. If you really think life is equal to everyone, look around you, how many people differ from you in term of appearance, attitude, personality or status. I have only learned every human being has equal right. But even so, there are still plentiful of inequalities going around the world.

I don't how to write a long post of philosophy like others. I don't need to know how to write one anyway. If I have to choose one principle of life, this is it.

Hakuna Matata



This is silly and even childish. This is perhaps just another plot from Disney. But so what?

I have been spending almost 2 weeks of my holidays here trying out my best to work on my final year project. And of course trying to look for a job. Even when I know my degree is just a rubbish, trust me it is, I am still trying very hard to work things out. I really do wonder why am I trying so hard when I know things are almost impossible. It doesn't just applicable to the project or job hunting. It is applicable to everything revolving around me. Be it human or thing. Things are pushing me hard but I believe human can push harder. Cause most of the times, we will be able to fix things but never human.

Hakuna matata ain't a philosophy. It's just a simple phrase.

No worry for the rest of the day.

Keep on repeating this sentence, perhaps everyday can be just as beautiful as those care-free days. #selfdenial

I am pretty sure I am fine. I don't need to talk about it to anyone cause you are reading what it is on my mind.

Itacho Sushi

Shag. Why do I feel this semester is just not going to end =.= Everyday I drag myself out early in the morning, waving byebye sadly to the bed and everyday I drag my exhausting body and mind back to my room and all I want is call it a day and enjoy dinner. Today is just day 2 but I feel like dying #loser

But still, I felt better today. Today is much merrier than few days before. Cause now quite some of the peeps were here to do their projects as well. -.- Guess this phenomena will continue throughout this vacation til next year until first draft is submitted. How I wish the deadline will come soon though with existing data it is almost impossible to prepare a 100p report fml.

Anyway, I am not going to rant, not going to rant and not going to rant #longwinded

I am going to take a break and sleep early tonight since I have figured out the mistake I did in my previous batch of experiments wtf and compiled data that my mentor needs.

No more rant from this point. FOOD galore!

Went for dinner at Itacho Sushi last Saturday. It is #awesome

I am not picky for food, I think, for most of the time especially when I am dead hungry, anything that fulfil my stomach taste heavenly nice. But when I said awesome, means edible of course! And definitely better than edible also! :)

So, come back to Itacho.

But is damn irritating when you just can't find the item you want on the paper cause they just, I don't know, you just can't find it when you want it. You know what I mean. Just like how we always want to look for the thing and you can never find it. What am I yelling about here @~@

Super like! Cause Tamoga is the first sushi I ever want to put into my mouth ehem. I never eat such Tamago, where the egg is BIGGER than the rice ball. ♥ #heaven

I start to fond sushi now. I remember how reluctant I was whenever friends suggested Sushi meal during outing in Sec school. Cause I hate raw food! And sushi is all about raw food #nobrain I forgot since when I started to try and accept sushi. Should be when I started to be conscious of peer pressure wth. :P Sushi seems to be popular among youngsters, so... you know...

Ant-neee-wey,

this grilled salmon soy sauce or soy sauce grilled salmon or grilled soy sauce salmon, ok get over it. You look thru the menu and see the cheapest one just order right away. Else what are you waiting for?

1 piece at 40cents only! When I said only I mean it. Cause even 1 piece of Tamago is like $1? They are doing promo currently. From usual 80cents, now is 40cents. But availability is limited Not sure though.

One thing to keep in mind when ordering is, if you are looking at the price, the price on the menus refer to single piece of sushi, not a plate or 2-3 like most of the sushi restaurants. Don't happily see the price so cheap then order as much #kiasu

I said I hate raw food that include the freaking expensive Sashimi and any raw salmon/tuna/fish/whatsoever, but this one is slightly grilled and salmon itself doesn't really smell so fishy, so consider acceptable for me. If you are salmon-lover, then just go ahead order. We order like 30 pieces for 6 of us?

California Maki or something? I give up. I am old and peer pressure doesn't work here. I don't know any single Japanese food name except for Tamago. :(

I seriously don't know why is it that cooked food is cheaper? Is it that the knife they used more expensive than the electricity/gas they used to cook?

Overall, the meal is quite pocket friendly (minus that plate of raw food). Will going again when I feel like eating 腊味 >.<

Year end is always eventful -- exams ended, school holidays, shopping, mega SALES, Christmas!, New Year, then followed by Chinese New Year for some of us. :D But of course, in between still got something else more happening, for me at least, and those in schools, school reopen fml! No one can ignore the fact that school is really eventful though it can be dead boring most of the times. @~@
